One of the largest grants handed out by the Washington County Riverboat Foundation was awarded to Mid-Prairie Community School District. The district received $100,000 to renovate its central office. Business Manager Cindy Steege says the renovations involve a complete overhaul of the office, which has not been updated since it was converted from a chiropractic office in the 1960s. Steege says the building will be completely gutted and redone on the inside, including new plumbing and wiring. The renovations will also result in a new space for meetings and conferences, which were previously being held in the high school’s media center.
