The Iowa Department of Natural Resources is offering another opportunity for a hunter education course.  Volunteer instructor Jim Cuddeback says this new opportunity will be offered at the Washington Junior High School.  He says this class is being offered for those who would like to have certification, but do not have a way to attend the class at Marr Park.

Cuddeback says he sees many school students attend this class but this course is open to anyone interested.  The course and all training related materials are free.

Cuddeback notes that per Iowa law, each student is to receive a minimum 10 hours of teaching and pass both a written and gun handling test to successfully acquire their hunter education certificate.  He says the registration is happening now through Friday and is limited to 24 participants.

The classes will be held from 3:30 to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday and from 8:30 to 11:30 am Saturday next week.
