Foul trouble ended up biting the Demon girls last night against Davenport Assumption in their regional final game. Playing in Tipton, in a game heard on KCII, the Demons’ leading scorer Sydney Greiner picked up two fouls in the first couple of minutes and the third not long after that, forcing her to sit much of the first half. Senior Jenna Krebs had a similar fate. Greiner didn’t end up scoring until 1:26 left in the third quarter. Assumption led 18-9 at the end of the first quarter, 40-25 at halftime and went into the fourth up 66-41. Assumption had eight three pointers and several the old fashion way. Assumption won 82-54. The Demons got strong performances from Seniors Cassie Holland who had 15 points and Jenna Krebs who had 17. Marissa Gaal is the third senior on the team. Lauren Vittetoe had 9 points. The Demons end the season 18-7 while Assumption improves to 22-2. It’s the third year in a row the Demons had reached the regional final.
