The Wapello Community School District held a special meeting Wednesday evening to begin the process of hiring a new superintendent.  School Board Secretary Eric Small says they finalized the establishment of focus groups for the replacement of Superintendent Dr. John Weidner.  Small says there will be a community group, administrative group, teacher group, non-certified staff, a student group and the school board.

He says these groups will actually take part in the candidate interviewing process.  Small says this will be a day long process.  He adds the groups will come together at a later time to make the best decision on who to hire.  Superintendent Dr. John Weidner’s resignation takes effect June 30th.
