Maid-Rite Diners has announced they are looking to Washington to expand their franchisee-owned restaurants. President and CEO Bradley Burt says they chose Washington because of a large enough population base, a lot of activity happening, a strong economy in Washington and they are well-known. Burt says the franchisee will be the owner-operator of the restaurant. He says once they find a franchisee, the next step is to find a building that is either already built or would need to be built. Burt notes if they are able to lease a building that is already built, they could open a restaurant within two and a half months. He says Maid-Rite has a goal of being able to open this year.
