The Washington Demon girls basketball team is in their second week of practices as they get ready to open the season Monday night in Eddyville. Demon Head Coach Phil Long says losing seven seniors from last year’s squad means they will have a little different look. He says they won’t be as big and physical as they were last year, but they should be a little quicker. The Demons have four key returners in Sydney Greiner, who is a junior and has been playing varsity since she was a freshman, Jenna Krebs, Lauren Vittetoe, and Reagan Enfield. The Demons were suppose to open this week with Williamsburg, but with Williamsburg making the state volleyball tournament they decided to move that to early December. So the Demons will open the season on the road playing Eddyville-Blakesburg.
