The City of Columbus Junction hired a new police officer during their regular session on Wednesday. City Council Member Harold Prior says they hired Andrew Fry from Lets to replace a previous officer, and will start duty on November. 22nd. The Board also decided to use grant money for tasers and taser training. He says they will be sending officers to taser training provided by the Louisa County Sheriffs office in a couple of weeks. Prior says he thinks the taser’s will be an asset to the city in the future. The next city council meeting will be Wednesday Nov. 24th at 5:30pm
