Alliant Energy says natural gas customers “should see winter heating bills stay flat.” Winter heating costs are expected to be “about the same as last year” at $620 for the six-month period from October 1 through March 31, a 16% decrease from the winter of 2008-2009.  The forecast is based on the current market, the percentage of gas costs that are already fixed through storage or locked-in contract prices, and normal winter weather.  For more information on natural gas and energy efficiency tips visit alliantenergy.com/naturalgas.
