Despite the rain, dozens of athletes were in Washington this weekend to compete in a duathlon. Bodywrx Fitness owner Teri Hartzler says Saturday’s Flying Pigs Duathlon had approximately 65 registered participants that ran 3 miles, biked 20 miles and then finished with a one and a half mile sprint.  Hartzler says “there aren’t that many” duathlons in Iowa, and the event attracted athletes from as far as Des Moines, Ames and Davenport. The overall male winner was Jeff Paul of LeClaire, local Washington resident Shawn Loy was the top female, and the 1st place team was Barnyard Mix, a Washington teams including Jane Davis, Mark Beatty, Gretchen Holm of Washington.  This was the first duathlon sponsored by Bodywrxx Fitness Center.
