Installing geothermal heating and cooling system at Washington’s Stewart Elementary School will cost a little more than 1.5-million dollars. That’s about half-a-million-less than initially anticipated. The low bidder on the project was Burlington based Bi-State Contracting. The district is paying for the endeavor with a one-million dollar grant from the state as well as grant money from the Washington County Riverboat Foundation, reserve funds and a 700-thousand dollar low interest bond.
