The Washington Demon baseball team kicks off the season today as they go on the road to face Pekin. There is a call for rain in the forecast so it’s hopeful they can get it in. Demon Head Coach Nathan Miller says rain disrupted things last year. They started and were only able to get about three innings in before the rain came. Tonight is scheduled to be a JV-Varsity doubleheader. The Demons have a couple of golfers in Kaleb Rich and Jake Redlinger, who will be playing in the state tournament Friday and Saturday. Consequently neither one will bat. Rich will start on the mound but will be limited to a pitch count and neither will play a fielding position. You’ll be able to hear the varsity game right here on the one to count on KCII. We’ll be on the air around 7:15.
