A Republican candidate for Eastern Iowa’s congressional seat is being endorsed by a local pork producer. Rob Gettemy has been named a “friend of agribusiness” by Washington County based Brenneman Pork. In issuing the endorsement the Brenneman’s said they “believe in (Gettemey’s) small business and entrepreneurial background and trust his understanding of how small businesses drive (the) economy.” Gettemy will meet three opponents in next month’s primary election. The winner will face Democratic incumbent Dave Loebsack.
