State Senator Becky Schmitz is sending out a thank you to all the young Iowans who served as pages during this year’s legislative session. Schmitz says the pages are from all over the state and help in a number of different capacities. The Fairfield Democrat says they also bring a fresh perspective, and are a constant reminder of how their decisions will affect future generations. Schmitz says lawmakers need to do more to recruit qualified young people to serve on the various boards and commissions appointed by the legislature.
