Washington School Board members are moving forward with issuing sales tax bonds to fund construction of a new high school. Superintendent Dave Sextro says they’ve hired Minnesota based Piper Jaffray to serve as the district’s financial adviser and agent. Sextro says as with most government contracts, they’ll be taking the lowest bid. Those bids are expected to be open next month. The school district could have cash in hand by December, while construction could start by construction by next summer.
