
Washington girls soccer continued its fantastic run of form on Tuesday, winning its fifth straight in a 5-0 victory at home over Columbus.
The Demons’ first goal came 14 minutes in, with Jocci Carter breaking through to put Washington on top. After another 12 minutes of scoreless play, Washington struck three times in four minutes, with Angelique Murillo Hernandez, Angeline Anderson, and Allie Wulf all contributing. Washington led 4-0 at the break.
Washington scored one more goal for good measure in the second half, with Anderson giving herself a brace in the 69th minute to make it a 5-0 game and final.
The Demons improve to 9-6 on the season, while the Wildcats drop to 4-7. Washington travels to Williamsburg on Thursday, while Columbus will begin for their Class 1A Region 2 first round matchup against Wapello next Tuesday.
