The 2026 Iowa High School State Track and Field Championships will be held this week, May 21st through the 23rd, at Drake Stadium in Des Moines. Sixteen area teams will be sending athletes to Des Moines to compete. 

In Class 3A, the Washington boys and girls teams will be represented with multiple events. The Washington boys will be competing in eight events. The girls will have participants in 12 events. 

The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawks’ boys and girls will also be participating in 31 events in the 3A competition. 

The Columbus Wildcat boys will be sending runners to compete in nine events, and the girls will be competing in four events in Class 3A. 

Ten area teams will be sending runners to compete in the Class 1A events. The Hillcrest Academy girls will be competing in four events. The Highland Husky girls will have participants in five events. 

The Lone Tree Lion girls will be participating in three events. Both of the Winfield-Mt Union boys and girls will be heading to state with the boys seeing participants in four events, and the girls sending one to compete. WACO Warrior boys will see action in six events, and the girls will be participating in five events. The Keota Eagles boys are sending one to state. The Sigourney Savage boys will be competing in four events, and the girls are sending runners for two events.
