Hillcrest Academy has announced the addition of Chris Ward as its Director of Stewardship beginning next school year.
The position, along with Head of School Nate Miller, will be a part of the school’s new fundraising team led by Director of Advancement Jeremy Ours. Ward graduated from Creighton Preparatory High School in Omaha, Nebraska, and received a bachelor’s degree from Mt. Mercy University in Cedar Rapids. Ward comes to Hillcrest from Grand Appliance in Kalona, where he worked as a manager.
Ward is married to his wife, Marcille, a 2003 graduate of Hillcrest. The family resides in Joetown with their four children, all of whom attend Hillcrest or Pathway Christian School. Ward attends Lower Deer Creek Mennonite Church where he serves as a Sunday school teacher and Junior Youth Fellowship sponsor.
Hillcrest has added several new positions over the past year, with the Director of Stewardship being the latest as the school continues to expand. The school has also named Nate Miller as its next Head of School, while also adding Beth Swantz as Dean of Academics and Emma Brenneman as Dean of Students for next fall. Hillcrest Academy is a private Christian middle school and high school in rural Kalona.
