
A two-vehicle wreck on Saturday north of West Chester sent three people to local hospitals. At approximately 10 a.m., the Washington Communications Center was notified of a two-vehicle wreck.
According to authorities, the wreck occurred at the intersection of Ginkgo Avenue and 190th Street north of West Chester. A 2021 Chevy Traverse driven by Louise Brinning of Keota was traveling northbound on Ginkgo Avenue. A 2011 Chevy Silverado driven by Erin Mills of Ainsworth was eastbound on 190th Street and failed to stop and yield the right of way at the intersection. This resulted in a broadside collision.
Both vehicles were totaled. Both drivers and one passenger were transported to local hospitals by ambulance with two going to the University of Iowa and one to Washington County Hospital and Clinics. A citation was issued to Mills for failure to yield right of way upon entering a through intersection.
The Washington County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by Washington County Ambulance, Wellman Ambulance, Wellman Fire Department, Wellman Rescue, Wellman QRS, and Moore’s Towing.
