Three girls wrestling teams were on the mat Friday at the Bill Rex Invitational in Packwood.
The Sigourney-Keota girls had the top area team finish, placing third of 12 schools with 134 points. Burlington was the winner with 158. Two titles came home with SK on the day including Sadie Clarahan at 125lbs with three contested match wins including a tech fall finals victory over Lila Miller of Pekin. At 130lbs, Kia Montgomery went 3-0 to win, including a title match pin of teammate Neveah Beinhart. Other Savage highlights included Beinhart’s runner up at 130 and second place for Layla Shilling at 135, Aubrey Utterback was third at 115lbs. Bristol Ward at 120, Izzy Heisdorffer at 145, Melanie Woodsmall at 170 and Madison Clarahan at 190 all were fifth.
Lone Tree was 10th in the team field with 60 points. Olivia Magruder was an individual champion, winning the 135lb title over Shilling of SK by fall. Other Lady Lion highlights included Fourth for Kalley Dees at 130 and fifth each for Carlee Sexton at 105 and Fay Eyler at 235.
The Washington Demons were 11th with 51 points. Ryha Wellington got to the top of the podium with a finals match 10-2 major decision over Breegan Ellison of Moravia. Brynlee Flynn at 100 and Nora Stoutner at 125 were both fifth.
