It was a win for both Hillcrest Academy summer sports teams Tuesday over the Pekin Panthers. The Raven softballers were 9-7 winners. Hillcrest did their work early, scoring four in the first, and five in the second to build a 9-0 lead, then held on during a Pekin rally that included three runs in the fourth and four more in the fifth. The Panthers out hit Hillcrest 8-6. The Ravens drew seven walks and issued four. Stavia Miller and Ella Mize combined for four hits, three RBI and two runs scored to lead the Raven attack. Annika Schrock and Marryn Boshart had an RBI each. Malia Yoder and Delaney Shaw each scored twice. Yoder got the win and Mize the save in the circle with combined eight hits allowed, five earned runs, four walks and seven strikeouts. The Ravens improve to 7-9, Pekin is now 5-11.

Phoenix Anderson put on a masterclass against the Panther hitters, carving up the Pekin lineup for a no-hitter in a 2-0 Raven boys win. Hillcrest scored single runs in the first and fourth and made them stand up. Anderson allowed nothing but a walk in five innings while striking out one. Seth Ours led Hillcrest at the plate with two hits, Liam Schrock and Bryce Bailey each had a hit and an RBI. Mason Bender and Lincoln Miller scored once each. Hillcrest is now 6-6, while the Panthers drop to 5-6.
