U.S. Senator Chuck Grassley spoke to KCII about President Trump’s first 100 days in office. As the President concludes the first 100 days of his second term, Grassley speaks on Trump’s success and where he is struggling, “I think he has been very successful. The one thing that is hanging fire that he doesn’t look like he has been successful on yet, because of negotiations still going on, that would be on the tariffs. But we shouldn’t be surprised that he has increased tariffs, he ran on it for a year. I know people might be shocked that a politician runs on a platform that actually stands on that platform. But he is trying to carry out what he promised the American voters he would do.”
According to the Tax Foundation, the tariffs as imposed and scheduled to rise will reduce after-tax incomes by 1.2 percent on average. Per US household, the imposed and scheduled tariffs will amount to an average tax increase of more than $1,190 in 2025 and $1,462 in 2026.
In the first 100 days of President Donald Trump’s second term, there have been a whirlwind of executive orders, policy proposals, and commentary. Trump’s current approval rating stands at 47% according to Forbes.
