
Washington Community Schools is participating in the Summer Food Service Program. The goal is to ensure that low-income students who rely on free or reduced-price meals during the school year still have access to nutritious meals and snacks during the summer months. Meals will be provided to all children under 18 without charge. They will be provided on a first-come, first-serve basis at Lincoln Elementary School from June 2nd through August 8th from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday. A shuttle service will be available from these locations HACAP, Stewart Elementary, St. James Elementary, Reserves at Briarwood apartment complex, the YMCA, and Brighton.
The Summer Food Service Program is funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture and administered by the Iowa Department of Education.
