A Washington woman will serve two years of probation following original charges of four counts of child endangerment after the removal of children from a home on South Marion during the holidays. According to court documents, at a recent hearing held in Washington County, Heather Egbert received a deferred judgement and will serve two years of probation. She had pleaded guilty earlier in the year.
The charges stem from an incident where authorities removed four children and nearly 30 pets from a house in Washington in December. Law enforcement officers found deceased animals in the house, along with feces and urine on the floor, and waist-high trash along with mold in the basement where a sewer pipe had burst.
Also facing two-years of probation related to the incident are Jon Zaiss and Teresa Jean Richmond.
