
The Columbus Wildcats celebrated Senior Night in boys’ soccer with a 5-0 victory over Wapello Monday night. Columbus jumped out to a 3-0 lead by the time halftime arrived and never looked back.
The win helped the Wildcats advance to this year’s Southeast Iowa Super Conference Soccer Tournament, where they would suffer a loss yesterday to Burlington Notre Dame. The ‘Cats now have a record of 4-8-1.
The WACO Warriors would also fall in the Super Conference Tournament last night at Mediapolis, only trailing by a goal at the half but ultimately losing by a final score of 3-0. The defeat drops WACO to 3-9.
Sigourney-Keota soccer would also lose yesterday evening to Chariton, facing a six-goal deficit at the break and ultimately falling 8-0. With the loss, SK falls to 1-11.
