
Archers from Washington Middle School competed Friday at the United States Eastern Nationals hosted by the National Archery in the Schools Program at the Kentucky Expo Center in Louisville.
The best effort of the tournament for Washington came from Hunter Barnes, who had a score of 289 in 3D shooting and collected 19 perfect 10s, putting him in 13th place among all middle-school boys and in the top 10 among eighth-grade boys.
Barnes also led the Demons with a score of 285 and 18 total tens on the bullseye, finishing in the top 30 among eighth-grade boys. Addyson Neer had the best girls’ score in the bullseye competition with a 277 and had 13 tens, putting her just outside the top 30 among sixth-grade girls.
