The Washington County Board of Health further discussed interview plans for public health administrator candidates during a special meeting Tuesday.

After the board approved last week that they would hold final interviews with the top five considered applicants on Saturday, October 16th, County Human Resources Director Amber Armbruster was informed by one of the candidates of a prior commitment they have that day, and offered the 14th as an available day to be interviewed. The board discussed that they want to be fair to this candidate but also in a way that is fair to the other candidates who are available, and weighing in the 13 panel members who have volunteered to take part in the interviews. They eventually agreed to hold an interview with the candidate at 7 p.m. Thursday the 14th, with four of the five board members available to ask all the written questions planned for Saturday. If the candidate responds that they cannot make their suggested date, the board will no longer consider them for the position.

Fiscal Administrator Peggy Wood informed the board that the 13 interviewees include four public health staff members, County Supervisor Richard Young, Environmental Health Director Jason Taylor, and County Emergency Management Coordinator Marissa Reisen. No representatives of the local school districts they contacted were available.
