trekfest-2021

Trekfest is back for its 36th annual event with the theme “Search for Spock.”

Music, food, competitions, and of course Star Trek-themed activities are all going to be taking place this weekend. Entertainment includes live music at Hall Park from Rachel Baiman, David Zollo, Skarlett Roxx, Brutal Republic and Boot Jack Band. Closing out the Friday night schedule on the main stage will be a showing of Star Trek III: Search for Spock, the theme of this year’s event.

Trekfest Director Kevin Meller shares there are plenty of kids activities planned including inflatables, tractor pull, water fights, and an 8U baseball tournament,

“Come down, bring your children, we’re gonna wear them out. We have plenty of food, we have plenty of entertainment down there. We got all of those inflatables so kids can go for hours, right there in the park where parents can enjoy the music.”

Other returning favorites include a demolition derby, Trek for the Schools 5K, parade and more. KCII will be beaming up to Riverside to broadcast live from 8-11:30 a.m. Saturday at Trekfest as part of the KCII Summer Town Tour.
