The WACO Community School District saw an increase of 2.2 students in the 2018-19 enrollment numbers. The district saw an increase of 10 students who chose to open enroll into the district. According to Junior and Senior High Principal Tim Bartels, since the WACO Community School District implemented the four-day school week in the fall of 2013, the gap between students who open enroll out versus students who open enroll in has been steadily decreasing. Bartels says that in the 2013/2014 school year the district saw 25.5 more students open enroll out of the district than open enroll in; this year the enrollment numbers show that number has been cut to 2.2.
