The Iowa Mennonite School softball team posted their first doubleheader sweep of the season taking down Mediapolis in a pair of road games Wednesday.

. In action heard on KCII, IMS scored a 7-3 win in the first contest. Iowa Mennonite saw their first six batters of the game reach with hits as they scored three times in their first at bat. MEPO tied the game with a three spot in the third. Avery Blauvelt broke that tie leading off the fifth for IMS with a solo homer. Leading 4-3, IMS scored three times in the bottom of the sixth for insurance including an RBI triple from Suzanna Yoder. That was more than enough for eighth grader Leah Bontrager who went all seven innings earning her first career win in the circle. Blauvelt was three for four at the plate with a homer, two doubles, two RBI and two runs scored.

In game two, IMS won in come-from-behind fashion 9-6. MEPO jumped on top with four runs in the first. IMS scored twice in the second to pull within 4-2 and the Bullettes scored in the bottom half to make it 5-2 after two. IMS tied it with three in the third and then scored two each in the sixth and seventh to finish the win. Mia Graber had four hits in the win for IMS. Suzanna Yoder drove in three at the plate and recorded the win in the circle going five and two thirds innings. With the sweep IMS is now 3-14 on the year as they travel to Columbus Junction Thursday.
