Three Washington High School alumnae will serenade the audience at the Washington Area Performing Arts and Events Center this weekend.

The show called Three Iowa Sopranos will feature Alyssa Bennett, Heather Youngquist, and Emily Jewell. Jewell’s father Mike is a retired teacher from the district and helped organize the event, he says, “I’ve had the privilege of teaching a lot of talented people over the years, both in schools at the middle school, the high school, and the middle school, and teaching privately. It’s always fun to hear how people are going on and doing things with what they’ve learned in school, of course particularly in the areas of music and education. And started making a list, trying to think of people we could invite back to perform in our community and now with the wonderful new auditorium at the high school, the WAPAEC center, thought it’d be great to try to get some people together.”

The sopranos will collaborate on a variety of songs from musical theater to opera. The show begins at 4:30 p.m. this Sunday.
