A large interest from freshmen has helped increase the numbers on Washington Demon girls bowling team. Washington bowling coach Sally Reighard says there are eight girls attending morning practice this season. The Demons were shorthanded a season ago, filling only five of the six starting varsity spots. Washington won one of their 10 matches.

Seven of the eight players are freshmen. Trista Kelly is the lone returner. She dropped 1,948 pins last year as a freshman. Her average game score was 108 and she posted a high score of 136. The newcomers include Bailey Brown, Taylor Northup, Katie Donnally, Taylor Janecek, Chelsie Kagemann, Dawsen Schluetter, and Rylie Swart.

The Washington girls’ bowling team starts their season on Wednesday, December 7, hosting the Sigourney Savages at Lebowski’s Rock ‘N’ Bowl.
