In the first four days of July the temperatures have been below normal. According to the National Weather Service, the average temperature in Washington to start July is normally 74.1 degrees with an average maximum temperature of 85.5 degrees, but the temperatures observed over the holiday weekend came in below normal. The average temperature was 65.4 degrees with the average maximum temperature the lowest on record at 73 degrees.
