Since the start of her varsity career three years ago, Lone Tree senior Paige Doehrmann has represented the Lions in multiple events at the Iowa Girls and Boys State Track Meet. The Lady Lions track team has qualified for state in 10 events since 2013, seven of which included Doehrmann. She made the state meet three times in the 400 meter dash and as a member of the Lions’ 4×100 relay team.

Head track coach Caylon DeVaul joined this week’s JET Physical Therapy Radio Coaches Corner to preview the Lady Lions upcoming season. He mentioned overtaking the program in 2013, working with this year’s senior class since they were freshmen. DeVaul has seen Doerhmann assume a large leadership role in early season practice.

Doerhmann joined a handful of her teammates by opening their season in Cedar Falls last week, competing in the Dickinson Relays hosted by the University of Northern Iowa. She recorded the team’s fastest quarter mile run, completing the 400 meter dash in 1:05.87, missing the cut for the finals.

Joining Doerhmann as seniors on this year’s Lady Lions track team are Devin Alt, Hailey Comer, Hannah Johnson, and Lexi Flake.

The Lady Lions resume their season Saturday in Pella, competing in the Central Indoor Meet.
