A partial train derailment happened shortly after 8 a.m. Monday morning between New London and Danville. Andy Williams, Burlington Northern Sante Fe Public Affairs Director, tells KCII News, an eastbound loaded coal train struck a road grader at a rural crossing. The collision caused 21 cars and two locomotives to derail. Williams states the road grader operator sustained non-life threatening injuries and none of the train crew were injured. The train was 135 cars long.
