Washington County 4-H members took on a project to help area farmers increase safety recently. Since the busy harvest is underway, the 4-H members took 200 “Stay Safe, Take a Break” bags to farmers throughout Washington County. Earlier this fall, the 4-H students used an assembly line to put together the bags that included safety literature, granola bars, bottled water, safety glasses, koozies, note pads, shop rags, gloves, first aid kit, hand wipes, ear plugs, dust masks, reflector tape strips, reflectors, ibuprofen, and cotter pins. The bags were made possible by donations from area sponsors and businesses.
