There will be two contested City Council races in Washington in November. In Ward 1, councilman Bob Shepherd will be challenged by Kerry Janecek. Three candidates are running for the at-large seat currently held by Mark Kendall. The three candidates are Gerald Franzen, Richard Gilmore and Millie Youngquist. Recently, councilman Bob Shellmyer announced his resignation of the Ward 3 seat and one person, Brendan DeLong is seeking the position.

Washington also has one person seeking the six-year term of park commissioner and it is incumbent Don Pfeiffer. Elections will be held November 3rd.
