After showing promising stretches in four set losses to Fairfield and Mount Pleasant, the Washington Demon volleyball team (3-7 overall; 0-2 Southeast) is looking to end their conference losing streak tonight in Keokuk.

The Demons’ current Southeast Conference losing streak stands at three games, dating back to the end of last season. Washington’s last win in league play came in Keokuk, a four set victory (23-25, 25-23, 25-23, 25-14) last October. The win was the lone conference victory for Washington last season.

The Demons fell in their latest league match, a four set loss to the Fairfield Trojans (25-23, 18-25, 15-25, 14-25) last Thursday in Washington. Senior Amber Salow recorded eight kills in the loss, bringing her team lead to 27.

Keokuk enters play tonight with one match win in nine tries. Eight of the Chiefs’ nine losses this season have come in straight sets. Junior Makenzie Pezley is an offensive threat to keep note of for the Chiefs, leading the squad with 29 kills.

First serve of tonight’s varsity match is set for 7:30 p.m. at Keokuk High School.
