The Highland softball team is coming off their 8-1 victory over Van Buren on Wednesday, and play host to Wapello tonight for the regional semifinals.
The Huskies beat Wapello in both meetings over the regular season, and hope to be victorious tonight to move on to the finals. Cheyann Adamson is the top bat with a .587 average, 38 RBI’s and three homers, while Morgan Craig is the second bat with a .513 average and 35 RBI’s. Katie Springer improved her stats earlier in the week, moving to 25-1 with a 1.28 ERA and 172 strikeouts.
Wapello beat Danville 9-1 to get to this game. Their top bat is Ashley Hahnbaum with a .432 average, 33 RBI’s and seven homeruns. Behind her is Kristen Keen with a .416 average and 18 RBI;s, and Allison Klenk is third with a .414 average and 22 RBI’s.
In the circle, Allison Klenk is the top arm with a 17-5 record, 2.22 ERA and 165 strikeouts.
