An area Boy Scout troop is raising money to travel to Omaha to earn merit badges that can’t be acquired in the area. Scout Master Neil Mills explains that Troop 242 is hosting a soup supper Monday in Washington to help raise funds for a trip to Omaha to visit the Henry Doorly Zoo and the Durham Museum. He explains what badges the scouts will earn badges for oceanography, studying reptiles and mammals and textiles.
The soup supper will be held Monday from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Washington, children are $5 and adults are $8. For more information about the trip listen to today’s Washington Page.
