
The Washington City Council has scheduled a public hearing on the proposed rate increases for water and sewer services.
The council set a public hearing to be held on June 2nd for proposed rate increases. The hearing will begin at 5:30 p.m. The proposed increases were part of the recent budgeting process. The items include a five-percent usage rate increase on both water and sewer, and a three-percent increase to all service levels for solid waste.
The current water usage rate is $6.26 per gallon, while sewer is $5.42 per gallon.
Following the public hearing on June 2nd, the second reading of the ordinance will be held.
