The Hillcrest Academy Raven boys soccer team traveled to Stuart Saturday for the West Central Valley Tournament.

In the first of two contests, the Ravens were beaten by the home team 4-1. Hillcrest trailed 2-1 at half and the Wildcats added a pair of goals after break to put things away. The Wildcats out shot the Ravens 8-4 and won corner kicks 7-1. Garret Wolfe led West Central Valley with a pair of goals and Trajan Rummel had two assists. Mason Fortney recorded the win in goal with three saves. The Hillcrest offense came from freshman Simon Willems with his first career goal. Garrett Bontrager made 11 saves in goal to lead the Raven defense.

In game two, Hillcrest fell to Pella Christian 2-0. The defenses dictated things early as the game went to half in a scoreless tie. The Eagles scored once to take the lead, then added an insurance tally to get the win in the second 40 minutes. The Eagles won shots on goal 8-3. Keegan Juffer had a PC goal on a Ben Van Wyngarden assist. Dallas Ford recorded the win as the keeper. Lincoln Miller led the Ravens with a pair of shots on goal. Beckett Miller went the distance on the back line for Hillcrest with nine saves.

After the weekend, Hillcrest stands at 1-5.
