The Mid-Prairie boys track and field record book has undergone a major rewrite in the past week. After a successful weekend at Iowa City West, more edits were made Thursday at a “Last Chance” Drake meet at Benton.

The Golden Hawk boys were team champions with their 100 point total. Benton was second with 93.5 points. The loss was the first of the year for the Bobcats. The Hawks had three championship events on the night with Ryan Henry, the fastest man on the track, winning the 100 in 11.18 seconds. Thomas Lueck took long jump flying 21’4.75” and the Golden Hawk 4×1 team of Oliver Miller, Kendrick Kos, Nolan Jergens and Henry won their event in 42.91 seconds, a new school record and Drake Blue Standard qualifying time. Runners-up included Max Swartzentruber in the two-mile, a new school record for the 4×200 team of Jergens, Kos, Miller and Henry and second for the sprint medley with Miller, Carson Humphrey, Henry and Jergens. The shuttle team of Kos, Lueck, Miller and Humphrey placed third, as did Tommy Miller in shot put and Kos in the 200.
