The Columbus Wildcat boys and Highland girls claimed team championships at this year’s Mike Kautz Invitational in Lone Tree on Monday.

Columbus dominated on the boys side, coming up with 250 team points. Individual championships included Lamar Ceant, who took first in the 100m with a time of 11.15, and again in the 400m hurdles with a time of 56.47, Djamar Exantus in the 200m with a time of 23.75, Lando Garza in the 400m with a time of 55.00, Ryan Villa in the 1600m with a time of 5:11.09, Fritz Figaro in the discus throw with a distance of 143’09”, and again in the shot put with a throw of 44’06”. The Wildcats also claimed first place in all relays, including teams in the 800 sprint medley, 1600m distance medley, 4x100m, 4x200m, 4x400m, 4x800m, and 4x110m shuttle hurdle. Second place performances came from Alexander Rees in the 100m and 400m hurdles, Dante Orozco-Gutierrez in the 110m hurdles, Kevin Villa in the 1600m, Ronaldo Villegas in the discus throw and shot put, and Tyson Corneille in the high jump and long jump. Third place finishes came from Corneille in the 100m, Donovan Rees in the 110m hurdles, Lando Garza in the 200m, Victor Tovar in the 800m, Elias Duran in the 1600m, Drake Marin in the 3200m, MWenebato Tcheo in the discus throw, and Gray Spillman in the high jump.

Keota earned second on the boys’ side with 80 team points. The Eagles got individual championships from Ayden Galindo in the high jump with a jump of 6’02”, and in the long jump with a jump of 19’02”. Other top performers include second place finishes for Rowen Horning in the 400m, Hunter Grandstaff in the 3200m, and the 4x100m and 4x200m relay teams. Third place finishes were delivered by Galindo in the 400m hurdles, and the 4×400 and 800m sprint medley relay teams.

Highland’s boys placed third with 77 team points. Noah Hartzler earned the individual championship in the 800m with a time of 2:10.10. Huskies with second place finishes include Brock Nebergall in the 800m, and the 800m sprint medley, 4x400m, and 4x800m relay teams. Third places finishes came from Elvin Hernandez in the 400m, William Boileau-Futrell in the shot put, and the 4x100m relay team.

Hillcrest took fourth with 44 team points. The Ravens got individual championships from Gibson Scott in the 110m hurdles with a time of 17.84, and Braden Hartsock in the 3200m with a time of 11:51.51. Kayden Estell finished second in the 200m, and Scott earned third place in the long jump.

Highland picked up the girls’ team championship with 112 team points. The Huskies got individual championships from Kinzie Ruess in the high jump at 4’10”, and Alexa Hahn in the long jump at a distance of 17’00”. Second place Huskies included Kamryn Fink in the 100m, Maiya Singbeil in the 100m hurdles, Grace Bombei in the 800m and 3000, and the 4x100m, 4x200m, and 4x100m shuttle hurdle relays. Third place finishes came from Siena Bell in the 100m hurdles, Singbeil in the high jump, Ella Schlabaugh in the long jump, and the 800m sprint medley.

Columbus took second with 88 team points. The Wildcats picked up individual championships from Ella Howell in the 400m with a time of 1:02.26, Isabella Forbes in the discus throw at 107’04”, and in the 1600m distance medley. Second place Wildcats included Howell in the 200m and long jump, Gabriela Duran in the 1500m, Kaylee McCullough in the discuss throw, Forbes in the shot put, and the 4x400m relay team.

Hillcrest earned third place with 87 team points. Individual championships for the Ravens included Rya Scott in the 100m with a time of 12.82, Adia Scott in the 200m with a time of 27.39, Marie Yoder in the 800m with a time of 2:40.74, Siena Stanerson in the 1500m with a time of 5:39.34, and the 4x100m and 4x200m relays. Yoder also picked up third place in the 1500m.

Mid-Prairie finished in fourth with 86 team points. Individual championships came from Sophie Miller in the 100m hurdles with a time of 16.95, Ruby Miller in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:17.61, Harper Pacha in the shot put with a throw of 38’01”, and the 800 sprint medley and 4x100m shuttle hurdle relays. Sierra Crowner placed second in the 400m hurdles, and Sophie Miller placed third in the shot put.

Keota placed sixth with 38 team points. Top performing Eagles included second place finishes for Elyse Lyle in the 400m, and the 800m sprint medley relay. Olivia Lyle finished third in the 200m.

Lone Tree placed eighth with 19 team points. The Lady Lions’ 1600m distance relay team placed second, while Lydia Hartman placed third in the 3000m.

Louisa-Muscatine and West Branch were also at Lone Tree Monday, competing on the girls’ side only.
