This week’s KCII Area Athlete of the Week is Highland girls golf standout Emersyn Schultz. The senior helped lead the Huskies to the team tournament title at the 18-hole Burlington Notre Dame Invitational at Flint Hills Golf Course. The Huskies shot a team score 370, winning the championship by 21 shots. Schultz finished with a tournament runner-up 78 that included an eagle to close the round. That 78 is the second best score in the state for 18 holes in the first week of the season. Congratulations Emersyn!
