The Golden Hawk Archery Club rewrote the record books over the weekend in Des Moines with their performance at the 2026 National Archery in the Schools Program State Tournament.

All Golden Hawk teams at all levels qualified for the National Tournament later this spring. The Golden Hawk high school team was eighth of 44 teams in block with a score of 3340. Cedar Rapids Prairie won the championship with 3376. Lael Seale had the top performance, placing sixth in the state in the girls competition with a 288 and 21 tens. Others who finished in the top 100 included Caitlyn Peters 48th, Sophia Puttmann 82nd, Harlee West 91st, and Ava Miller 95th. The boys were led by a pair with Jonathon Pickard and Elijah Statler finishing in 10th with matching 290s and 20 tens. In 3D, the high school Hawks were third in the state with a combined score 1673. Nodaway Valley won the title with a 1684. Ava Miller placed sixth in the girls competition with a 283 and 18 tens. Other top 100 Golden Hawk girls were Lael Seale 11th, Rylee Cady 44th, Harlee West 74th, Sophia Puttmann 79th and Madelyn Sieren 92nd. For the boys, Statler had the top round at 11th with a 285 and 18 tens. Other top 100 Hawks were Preston Ford 53rd and Pickard 71st.

The Mid-Prairie middle schoolers finished eighth in the block team standings with a 3227. Solon won the state title with a 3304. Easton Miller led the way with a 17th place boys finish at 281 with 16 tens. Other top 100 performers included Bryce Miller 19th, Beckett Miller 35th, Nolan Mohling 42nd, Noah Coblentz 50th, and Joshua Seale 53rd. Girls leader was Ruby Regenwether 63rd with a 270 and 10 tens. Ellie Rand was 69th. In 3D, Mid-Prairie was eighth with a 1622. West Fork were the state champs with a 1674. Bryce Miller was best for the boys, finishing sixth in the state with a 283 and 17 tens. He was followed by Coblentz 12th, Joshua Seale 16th, Beckett Miller 52nd, Braxton Ropp 55th, and Mason Schneider 80th. For the girls Regenwether led in 38th with a 266 and seven tens. Lara Brenneman was 98th.

For the elementary Hawks in bullseye Logan Beachy was 49th to lead the boys with a 255 and seven tens. Axel Miller was 59th. For the girls Charlotte Wehr had a girls best 57th place day with a 239 and six tens. In 3D, Emilia Rodgers was girls leader at 48th with a 202 and a ten, and boys leader was Beachy 93rd with a 221 and seven tens.

Mid-Prairie qualified all high school and middle school teams for the National Tournament by finishing in the top 10 in the state in each specialty. Top 10 individual finishers in each boys and girls field were also auto-qualifiers. It’s the first time in program history they have auto-qualified all teams for Nationals.

The National Tournaments are held the final weekend in April in either Sandy, Utah or Louisville, Kentucky.
