
Archers from Washington and St. James Elementary made the trip to Des Moines last weekend for the 2026 Iowa NASP Bullseye and 3D Championships.
Washington High School placed 13th out of 44 teams in bullseye and 11th out of 34 teams in 3D. In 3D, Hunter Barnes led the boys, placing third with a 290. Charlee Read led the girls, placing 15th with a 281. In the bullseye competition, Barnes again led the boys with a 292 and a third place finish, while Chloe Hoback led the girls, shooting a 280 for a 42nd place finish.
Washington Middle School placed 16th out of 39 teams in bullseye and 11th out of 28 teams in 3D. In 3D, Braxton Rich led the boys with a personal best 276, while Aryana Jones led the girls with a 267. In bullseye, Jayce Thorius led the boys with a 272, while Lillith Hernandez led the girls with a personal best 265.
Lincoln Elementary placed fifth out of 13 teams in 3D and first out of 13 teams in bullseye. Mason Ousey led the boys with a 260 and a 12th place finish in 3D, while Rosalie Montz finished eighth by shooting a personal best 256. Rowan Ayrit led the boys in bullseye, placing ninth with a personal best 269, while Montz again led the girls with a 15th place finish and a 259, another personal best.
Finally, St. James Elementary sent three archers for the bullseye competition, with Maxton DeLong leading the trio with a 223. Bennett Vittetoe was the lone competitor in 3D, placing 23rd among elementary girls by shooting a 233.
Individuals or teams placing in the top ten received a plaque and the opportunity to go to Nationals, May 7th through May 9th in Louisville.
