Mark your calendar for a popular and fast moving event returning to Washington this spring. 

On Saturday, May 9th, beginning at 8 a.m., the Washington Tree Committee will be having its annual free tree giveaway. 

This is sponsored in part by the Washington Iowa Betterment Foundation. This event will take place on the east side of the square. The goal is to offer homeowners a variety of trees and to increase the diversity of species in Washington. There will be 100 trees available, with a limit of one tree per household. It is recommended that interested individuals get to the park before 8 a.m. in order to receive their tree.
