The Washington Community School District has announced the hiring of its new high school principal. 

Joey Lankelma will be starting in the position the next school year. 

The school district states that Lankelma brings leadership experience at both the junior high and elementary levels, as well as classroom teaching spanning from second grade through college. He is coming from the Iowa City Community School district. 

He holds master’s degrees in mathematics education and educational leadership. While passionate about developing both students and staff, he is committed to fostering a culture where growth is measured by personal progress.
