Two commendations were presented during the Washington City Council meeting on Tuesday. 

During the 2025 annual report, Washington Police Chief Jim Lester recognized Administrative Assistant Rhonda Hill and Internet Crimes Against Children Investigator Mia Brdecka. 

Hill has provided 20 years of service to the Washington Police Department. Hill’s organizational skills and dedication directly contribute to the effectiveness and integrity of the police department. 

Officer Brdecka is recognized for her initiative in stepping into the role of ICAC Investigator. When presented with the opportunity to assist with ICAC investigations, she did not hesitate. ICAC investigations are among the most challenging in law enforcement. Through her work on multiple cyber tips during the last year, Brdecka played a critical role in identifying and supporting local victims.
