Two Washington County Organizations were given funds for the next fiscal year from the county’s opioid settlement funds.
There were two requests for the fiscal year that were approved by the Washington County Supervisors. They include $3,850 for Community and Family Resources, Inc. The organization provides services including prevention and education, detoxification services, outpatient substance use treatment services, mental health services, problem gambling services, residential substance use treatment services, and more.
Another $6,000 was allocated for Celebrate Recovery in Brighton. Celebrate Recovery is a Christian 12-step program designed to facilitate recovery from a wide variety of behavior patterns. The Celebrate Recovery website states that over five million people have participated in a step study in over 35,000 churches.
These amounts will be supplied by the county’s opioid settlement funds that they have received from the state. Opioid settlement funds are typically used for rehabilitation programs by the counties. Washington County has previously used opioid funds for County Outreach and the Washington County Sheriff’s Office phone app.
